Rielle Hunter and John Edwards are not engaged.
Despite a report this week that John put a ring on it, "the reports are false and he is not engaged," a family spokesperson said earlier today.
Sheesh. How dare people assume an upstanding individual like John would ever pull such a move. It's not like he's some cad who cheated on his terminally ill wife and knocked up Rielle Hunter while running for U.S. President. Oh, wait ...

NOT ENGAGED: John Edwards, Rielle Hunter and their young daughter Quinn may be together someday, but not today. Check back this time next week.

Edwards' affair became public knowledge after he was busted in 2008. He denied their child was his until over a year later when he was busted again.
The disgraced former U.S. Senator's estranged wife, Elizabeth Edwards, passed away last month at age 61 after a long struggle with breast cancer.
At least she cut him out of her will at the last minute.

The same network that gives a platform to pathetic, demanding parents of children that will one day require years of therapy has announced that Ted Haggard: Scandalous will air on January 16.

 

The one-hour special will focus on the former head of the National Association of Evangelicals, who was caught having an affair with a male prostitute and has also admitted to crystal meth use.

Justin Bieber to Guest Star on Glee... with Cheryl Cole?!?

Take the following rumor with a grain of salt the size of Justin Bieber's fan base...
According to Great Britain's The Sun, Justin Bieber has been approached by producers to guest star on Glee and has actually accepted - under one condition.
"It must be in the agreement that [Cheryl Cole] gets a part in the show as well," Justin allegedly told the newspaper. "Cheryl and the show make total sense. It's all about people who look good and can sing and dance - that's totally Cheryl."

Bieber has made no secret that he crushes on Cole, but these quotes still don't sound like him, do they?

"Glee is a great way to introduce [Cole] to the States," he says. "It would be great if she played a substitute teacher taking a sabbatical from England or something. Can you imagine how hot Cheryl would look dressed as a school teacher?"

Whether or not Justin is quoted correctly here, we still wanna know: Do you think he should appear on Glee?

Murray Lawyer Paints Picture -- Michael Killed Himself

Dr. Conrad Murray's lawyers  laid the groundwork for their defense -- Michael Jackson delivered the fatal shot of Propofol to himself.

Murray's lawyer, J. Michael Flanagan, asked Coroner investigator Elissa Fleak two questions  1) Was the IV bag fingerprinted? and 2) Was it possible for Jackson to reach the syringes from the bed?

As TMZ first reported, the defense will argue that Jackson became frustrated when he couldn't sleep that day and gave himself the fatal shot of Propofol when Murray was out of the room.

Clash of the Footballers -- Ronaldo Meets Ochocinco

With no playoff game to prep for this weekend, Chad Ochocinco jetted over to Spain this week ... and went on a double date with the most famous futbol player on the planet ... Cristiano Ronaldo.



We're told Chad and his lady, Evelyn Lozada, hooked up with Ronaldo and his lady, Irina Shayk, at a De Maria restaurant in Madrid.

No word on who paid for the meal.

Elijah Wood Joins Cousin Bilbo in The Hobbit

Peter Jackson's vision for The Hobbit is becoming a littler clearer.
Despite his character not actually being in J.R.R. Tolkien's novel, Elijah Wood will be making an appearance in Jackson's two-part Lord of the Rings prequel—which, judging by the inclusion of Frodo Baggins, will be utilizing some flash-forward/flashback storytelling along the way.
Also along for the ride, which is expected to start next month in New Zealand, is Cate Blanchett, another LOTR standout who isn't an OG Hobbit character. And there's talk that Orlando Bloom will be reprising (originating?) his role as Legolas in the new feature.
Sounds like someone wants to entice the Frodo-Galadriel-Legolas fans ahead of time.
For the main plot of The Hobbit, meanwhile, Martin Freeman is playing intrepid little burglar Bilbo Baggins. Ian Holm played the eleventy-one-year-old version in LOTR, so who knows, maybe he'll be in this one too!
